Our next Ft. Worth discussion group/cohort will be meeting on Tuesday, May 23 at 8 PM at The Four Star Coffee Bar in Ft. Worth. More details will be coming soon. As our cohorts have been growing we have found that there are many questions about Emergent and whether or not it can be defined. While the growth in curiosity has been encouraging, and the questions have been graciously stated, we wanted to propose that we proceed to other questions which might address broader issues for the entire group. This is not an effort to skirt the issue of "definition;" we feel that you can learn more about Emergent and this cohort by listening and participating in the discussion rather than seeking a creedal statement. If there is confusion about the mission, vision, or core beliefs of Emergent, check out the Emergent website at www.emergentvillage.com. A great way to present questions regarding definition is through the conversations that can take place at the end of an evening or through emails and questions posted on the blog. Dialogue and conversation is the life blood of our cohorts, and we would like to have many more join us as we move forward in our discussion of theology, culture, and ecclesiology. I look forward to seeing many of you in a couple weeks.
